RRD Lucky Fish

Well known and respected surfer and shaper Ian Armstrong, in collaboration with RRD, designs and builds the newest shapes in the surfboard line.

Ian, a former World Big Wave Champ, along with his wife are a part of a surfing family of 10, with two of their sons, Max and Asha, having represented their country in surf contests. Ian and his family reside on the border of the Cape Point Nature Reserve in Scarborough, South Africa. It is here they became good friends with the Ricci family, sharing their passion for riding waves, from long boarding waves to hollow outbreaks, a reverence shared by the local community. It is here that a collaboration started, resulting in the culmination of shared knowledge of Roberto and Ian, drawing from their experience of board making of all kinds, sizes and styles. Their shared curiosity, passion and hunger for knowledge, combined with their decades of experience has lead to the ongoing collaboration to create the best board available.
